IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE OFFICE DURING COVID-19

CLICK HERE to download an important Information Packet (3/23/2020)

During this pandemic we will be making some changes to our office procedures to protect our members and staff. These changes will remain in effect till further notice. If you have any questions or issues you can always contact the Union Hall during normal business hours at 732-246-2122.

The office is open with the following procedures. Daily referral and adding your name to the books will continue. The vestibule at the front door (Livingston Ave.) will be the only access. A table and some sign in sheets are placed in the vestibule for each classification. Please complete the appropriate sign- in sheet in a legible fashion. While waiting to sign the pad please maintain the suggested 6 foot social distancing by only one person in the vestibule at a time. When you are done, return to your vehicle and wait in the parking lot.

At approximately 8:00am the office will make calls to the phone number provided with any job offers. You must be in the parking lot and if no answer, we will move to the next person on the list.
The procedure to receive your referral will be explained on the phone when you accept a job.
When referral is complete for the day, an agent will let you know in the parking lot.

For Portability- The contractor must call ahead and make an appointment time for the employee. We will only do Portability till 9:30am. Current Dues receipt and the required ERTS registration are still mandatory. Any additional paperwork will be provided and can be completed in your vehicle. Drug testing will also be explained if needed.

Drug Testing- Drug tests and renewals are by appointment only. Please contact the Union Hall to make an appointment. No walk-ins without appointment.

These procedures are in place till this crisis passes and may be changed as needed. This is a serious problem and everyone staying healthy is our mission. Please follow all CDC suggestions.

ATTENTION! ATTACK ON APPRENTICESHIP - (7/26/2019)

            ATTENTION! ATTACK ON APPRENTICESHIP

Currently non-union entities are trying to change the rules for apprenticeship programs.  If successful, non-union contractors could establish it's own program that would NOT be subject to the same Department of Labor requirements as we are.

This would strengthen our competitions advantage to provide cheap, unskilled labor.

Please participate at the following website:

www.saveIBEWapprenticeships.org

Fill in your name and information on the left side of the screen and the form on the right will create a letter to the Department of Labor automatically.

Fraternally,

Michael G. McLaughlin

President, IBEW Local 456
